I got home from work and quickly took the little-A girls down to Legacy.  We rode 3 miles north and came back.  In between we stopped approximately 10 times to rest, throw rocks, pee in the bushes, rest, cry about tired arms and legs, etc.  As far as runs go, this wasn't a delight.  I finally told littlest-A girl I would give her 20 jelly beans if there was no more whining.   She closed her mouth with determination, and didn't say a word for the remaining 2.5 miles.   She said it kept the bugs out and the whining in.

There were a lot of bugs.  I saw some huge bird, but couldn't get close enough to be sure what it was.  It was flying low, with a 5' wingspan.

3 hours of cross training, core and upper body...AKA lawn mowing.

My treadmill had been feeling lonely.  I got started around nine, planning to do a 666.  Between my still funny legs and a lingering sinus infection, I couldn't hold on at all, and walked a bit after 2 miles, so my overall time was 63 minutes.  It was good to see Jack Bauer again.  I wish I arrived home a bit earlier so I could run outside in the daylight.

I need an event to get on a training plan.  Getting ready for Ragnar isn't specific enough.  After daily consulting a piece of paper for 4 months, this feels a bit too loose.

2 hrs cross training, with trimmer, broom and lawn mower.  I feel like I should get miles, cuz doing the lawns makes me "too tired" to run.

After 4.5 hours of mower cross training, I ran home from my Dad's.  I took Davis Blvd, then made my way to 1300 E, to wind back down Northern Hills and catch dirt Davis Blvd.  Then I found a single track to follow all the way to my usual haunts on the BST.  I crossed a stream I'd never seen before; I wonder if it's around during runoff every year, or maybe just this year.  There was a small, 5' waterfall, and I nearly decided to hop down and take  a bit of a shower, but I didn't want wet shoes for the rest of the run.  I ran to about Chase Lane, then came down to 400 E. to get home.

The best part of the run was the trail, and the fact that my legs feel none the worse for wear.  I'm joining Spence tomorrow for 10 of his 15er; I hope that's not overdoing it.  Also, I found a former worker to take over most of my mower cross training.  I'm VERY happy about that.

I ran with Spence on BST between Bountiful and Farmington.  I am encouraged that my legs feel fine afterward.  Maybe I can increase speed & mileage in the next couple weeks.
