6 a.m.  Jack and I ran to Freedom Hills, somewhat more quickly than usual; I was minus one or two cats.  @ the park 2 trips up and down the switchbacks with the jogging stroller.  1st one was 6:25.  Despite going much harder and negotiating the turns better, the second one was also 6:25.   I love how the sand grabs at the wheels and my feet.  My crocs got a little full from the lean over the stroller shuffle.  Jack liked singing along with the bumps.  I wonder what he thinks about running.

Then we came home on a sultry, sunless morning.

I estimate if I run 100 switchbacks between now and a marathon, that would be quite beneficial.  I'm including the one from Saturday.  I shall also mix in 100 6:40 miles.  That should get me out of the "marathon shuffle".

100 switchbacks in sand with a stroller? now that's a plan. i'll go for 100 bananas between now and TOU.

solid plan man.

Allie- Will you eat those bananas in a tub? I will go for 100 ice baths, whether I need it or not. Why not? That will be just over 2 ice baths a day. Good plan. What if I ate a banana each time after running 100 switchbacks? What if!

Kam- Run those puppies in vain. That might be the secret.

Teena, "herding cats" is what I call the runs where my 6 and 8 year old come along on their bikes. One always gets tired, and we get strung out over a quarter mile, with the energetic one zooming ahead, not being careful at intersections, and the tired one lagging far behind, despite being constantly enjoined to "hurry up so we can get to the store and get our donuts." Often the baby is in the stroller as well, so we cut quite a path along the shoulders of Centerville roads. I make a bit better time when the girls remain sleeping in bed.

I think you should enter a stroller race. That is some mad speed!! My stroller pushing mile PR is still sitting pretty at 9:25!

Oh, Rachelle. I'd love to let you go on thinking I ran 6:25 miles with a stroller. Nope. That's my time for a half mile climb up the mountainside. (Andy can attest it's pretty tough.) I've never done a stroller time trial.

You are running the switchbacks while pushing a stroller and wearing crocs? I don't even know how to respond. That is truly insane.

AMEN, Andy!!!! :)
