7 am.  Shake-out from Saturday.  I foam rolled a bit last night, and Tami worked over my right shin.  It was very uncomfortable.  Things feel better this morning, although the first couple miles were a bit...

Jens came along.  This was his longest run in 7 months.  He always flies past me when we near home; I can't match his sprint.  When we were .75 miles from home, I told him if I'm ever going to beat him home, I might have to pick it up a little earlier.  With a quarter to go, I gapped him a bit, just to see what he'd do.  At Porter Lane, I had to slow to wait for a passing car.  This gave him an opening to close the gap, pass me, and blast in for the "win",  as usual.  Then, much to my delight, he groaned, leaned over, and puked all over the flowerbed.

If I ever get serious about beating him home I'll have to run him farther, and start the fast finish with a mile to go.  I'm sure he won't be able to match that.  Honestly, I'm glad he's got some spit and vinegar in him, and doesn't want to lose.

I love the Father-Son dynamic. Wants to beat Dad so badly that he's willing to puke over it. I think I would do the exact same thing at his age.

That makes me laugh. Good boy.

Hey what legs are you doing for Ragnar? What time do you start and what's your team name? I know too many ?'s haha

From Kam on Tue, Jun 18, 2013 at 16:05:50 from 68.66.163.179

I think we start at 1:00 pm. I am doing 7,8,19,20,31,32. I feel lucky, but like a chump, cuz it's by far the least mileage of the six runner positions. Team name is H2-Ow. I'm not really sure what that means.

I think it means water is bad for you. I am doing Ragnar for the first time this year. Not sure how I feel about it.

Josh, I think Ragnar is much more enjoyable in memory than in real life. But it is a pretty cool event, seeing runners of all shapes, ages and sizes giving it a solid effort.
