I took the three little ones for a shakeout.  The stroller and 2 bikes tend to enforce going slow.  We went to the Ricks creek waterfall, then the girls wanted to play at the park.  Jack was asleep by then, so I sat on the bench and watched them for a while.  Before coming back, Anna walked into the unlocked bathroom to take care of business.  She saw it was a robot toilet and decided she could wait till she got home.  It's funny how kids hate auto-flush.  She also complained it smelled like dead bugs in there.  I thought it smelled like poop, but that's just me.

I know the run was helpful to me mentally.  I'm not sure about physical benefits.  My rt ankle really tightened up since, and it wasn't bothering me before.  My legs feel pretty normal, but the left calf is still a bit tight.  I might have to pay for a massage.

Boston was fantastic.  I'm so pleased with how the trip went.  The kids all claim they had a great time; I know I did.  Of course it would be nice to have run a faster marathon, but given the conditions, I'm satisfied with that outcome as well.

How are your legs feeling?

Kids are so funny and I completely admire you for pushing the jogging stroller. I tried it for the first time last night with my nephew and I think it deserves at least 2+ extra minutes per mile.

Boston freaking rocked! I want to go back already.

glad you had a great trip to boston -- that's what it's all about.

Kids had fun, you had fun, and you have the right perspective about the race itself. That sounds like a success to me! I don't care what anyone says, 99.999% of people weren't coming anywhere near what they were capable of on Monday, so you just gotta chalk it up to something we can all talk about the next time Boston is hot, and we can say it was tougher in 2012 :-)

Jake, the future bragging rights are definitely worth something. Rachelle, my jogging stroller is a hand-me-down, but it's nice. It tracks well, and unless it's windy, I don't notice it much. Plus Jack is still < 1 yr. When I took Anna (age 5) a couple times last year, it was a LOAD.

Just for the record I asked how your legs were doing before you wrote up your workout report. Thanks for the update:) your legs will be back very soon. Are you still thinking of a fall marathon or half?

I'll be that crazy great grandma telling my great grandkids for the 100th time, "I ran Boston in 2012. Can you believe that?" I'm glad you enjoyed the experience in Boston.

From Kam on Fri, Apr 20, 2012 at 16:29:32 from 68.66.163.179

Yes, yes, Tara. Nobody was wondering about your reading comprehension skills. I'm pretty sure about jumping in to run the full at UVM. I have until May 25th to decide, though.

"Did I ever tell you kids about the time I ran the Boston Marathon and the effective temp off the pavement was 95 degrees?" (only about 100 times....)

Luckily you have 7 kids so you can tell the story 7x as many times!!

Glad to hear you are surviving!

I am also afraid of those toilets, they could totally suck you in. My 7 year old will not use them. She'll hold it all day.
