Please explain plank to me? I am kinda el stupido and have not a clue what it is :)

Plank is when you lie face down on the floor, with only your forearms/elbows and toes touching the floor. You keep your body flat, like a plank, and hold it for as long as you can. It's a core exercise. I sweat more in a 4 minute plank than I do running 2 miles.
