Something I ate wasn't sitting well, so I thought about skipping tonight.  Then it occurred to me this was an excellent chance to practice running while feeling lousy.  1 mile warmup, then 7@6:40, slight downhill.  The crocs worked great, and I felt better from 1 to 6.3.  I'm always glad for the treadmill for runs like this; lock in a pace and hang on till it's over.

Good luck to all the Ogden runners!  I'm joining friends for a loop around the lake.

Have a nice cruise around the lake.

Geez Kam you freaking rocked this! Sheesh I cannot honestly even imagine running 7 miles at a sub-7 pace. Have fun tomorrow! I wish I could make it up to watch everyone.

Nice job pulling off THAT while feeling lousy!

Yell at me tomorrow when I see at mile 7! Trip anyone close to me. ;o)

Enjoy your run around the lake. How long is that?

From Kam on Fri, May 18, 2012 at 15:28:06 from 68.66.163.179

It looks like 15 miles. I need 20, so maybe I'll join you for a mile or 2.

;o) Make me run faster no matter what I say.

So what are your plan for UVM?

From Kam on Sun, May 20, 2012 at 11:26:44 from 65.130.30.11

Plans at UVM? Show up and run as fast as I can, I guess. I think the TOU plan was reasonable last fall, but I was undertrained to execute at that pace, plus the twists and turns on the course got to me. I'm thinking I'll do the same thing at UVM, but execute to the finish line, or at least till mile 23 when I'll allow for slowing to 7:30 pace. After yesterday's run I'm more optimistic than I was.

On the other hand, maybe I should do something different, just to avoid the insanity definition. I read something about running the first quarter 5% slower, the middle quarters 5% faster, and the last quarter on pace. I still have nagging doubts that my goal is more aggressive than my training; nevertheless, I'm looking forward to running a new marathon. I'm assured of a personal course record; at the worst I'd like to BQ.
