Woot woot.  I took my green shoes over 600 miles on this run.  Atmospheric conditions were a bit unstable as the run commenced.  By mile 3 it was snowing very hard.  Fortunately, it was a cross breeze for the bulk of the distance.

I ran with a guy named Ray for a little while, and another lady who was starting her 12 miler as I finished up the last 2.  I felt bad that she had to be out in the muck for 2 hours.  Runners are crazy.

Another weak week; but I did shovel 75 driveways on Thu-Sun.  My upper body and core/back are plenty worked out after this winter.

Sounds like a nice day for a jog. Runners are crazy. What are your racing plans for the year? I'll be at a Toni/Vard family reunion the week of July 24th and I'm thinking of doing the Des News marathon again. You tempted?

Tempted? A little. How 'bout I run the last 1/2 with you? I'm going to do the skyline trail marathon in August, I think.

Cool! I just looked up Skyline and it looks brutal. Perfect for a nice trail run. Running the last half of Des News with someone to yell at me would be awesome. Mile 15 is right near the zoo, and probably a perfect spot to latch on. If I register I'll let you know. That would be fun, if marathon and fun can be used in the same sentence.

Russ and Kam, DesNews sucks the life out of me, have fun with that beast.

Shoes over 600 miles? I can't get mine to 400 without my feet whimpering, good for you.

I watch Biggest Loser too (read your other post from this week). My husband and I both dislike Gina. She has so much to complain about... Working with world class trainers, has a chance at a quarter of a million, she will only end up better after the show. So sad. She reminds of a lot of the contestants from last season.

Russ has a bit of unfinished business with Desnews. IT band trouble limited him in his first marathon. This time around will literally be a breeze compared to 2YA. I think BL should have a reunion where they put all the most horrible people in the house together. Heba, Vicki, Conda, Jeremy, Gina, etc. Let them claw each other's eyes out.

I love that you remember all of their names. Ha!

I think the Des News 10k looks tempting. Everyone seems to get around 35 mins. I assume it's partly because it is SHORT drop off a CLIFF. Sounds like my kind of race. I imagine the marathon is fast too, but yet a killer.

It's a fast course, but really the only overly steep parts are in the first mile. After that, it's a nice, calm descent down south temple, with a bit of climbing in the final mile.

What? 75 Driveways?

From Kam on Tue, Feb 26, 2013 at 17:08:11 from 68.66.163.179

Britta, I have a small yard maintenance business. In the winter up to 19 of my clients have us shovel their driveway. It makes my back sore thinking about it.

What Britta said, +1. That's some serious shovelling. I'm off for a lie down.
