Mueller-North Canyon Loop with Twinkies and Tara.  Good times.  The climb was pretty good, the descent was decent.  I couldn't keep up with Matt coming down; he's a real billy goat.  We looped back to the car, and I headed back for 4 more on the Blvd.  My internal GPS works pretty well; I was only off by .1 on my turnaround for 2 miles.  Coming back to the car for the second time I dropped a 6:50 mile, which was nice to do 17 miles into the run.  We had good chats about racing and race day psychology and mental preparation.  More than ever before, I'm locked into finishing the switchbacks by marathon day.

When I got back to the car for the second time, I went to the creek and made a sufficiently deep wallow to sit in the cooling and soothing waters of Mill Stream.  I've never felt this okay after a long run.  That's a good sign...

I can't wait for the TOU half reports to start rolling in.

Matt is a billy goat! ha!

I had to use the 10 minute mental game on the way back with 1.5 to go:)I will sit in that river next time. I'm already on the edge of my seat waiting for your Huntsville report...but I guess I'll be there to see it in person anyway. Whatever, I'm still excited! Thanks for organizing the run today. We'll get Jasmine next time.

Hey for next sat lets get a big group of whoever wants to come run monte. We will drive a car up to the top and we can just drive people up to whatever mileage they want and drop them off. Sound good?

Thanks, Joss. I mean Tara. Angie, my wife wants to bring a couple friends to do a long downhill run, but at much slower pace. It should work out fine. I'm thinking I'd like to do the last 18 miles (or so) of the course, just to get a feel for what to expect during the race, with the final 5 at MP. I'm not very worried about the first half... We should plan on leaving you and your friend's car at Huntsville Park so you can take off when you are done, then I'll wait on the other group and do the shuttle thing. Sound good?

Yeah, not use to having another family member on the blog:)

Nice run Kam. You are really coming into good form at just the right time to pop a big marathon PR!

Thanks for the run Kam. You're looking great this year.
