Starting in June, my left knee started feeling stiff and swollen.  It was alternating between painful and uncomfortable.  Running didn't seem to hurt much, but it also didn't help.  I cut things back to give whatever is going on a chance to heal.  I am unaware of any injury; it just crept up on me over a period of months.  At it's worst, I'd abort runs after a 1/4 mile and walk home.

Currently it feels a bit uncomfortable for the first mile or so, but then it seems to warm up and feel fine by the end of a brief run.  The next morning it's more stiff, but not too bad.  It's affecting my running gait, and my right lower back gets sore when I run.  I don't have confidence in the knee.  I get up from the floor and out of a car like a man 20 years my senior.

Since I can't recall an injury, I'm not bothering with the doc yet.  "Rest, Ice, Ibuprophen, strengthen your core and quads."  Got it, Doc.  I hope it's fine to ski on all winter, since I already bought a season pass...

Well I'll be, a Kam sighting. Don't know how I missed this! Sorry to hear about the knee, didn't realize it was bothering you so much. Hope you can figure it out soon, as ski season is very important. We just started skiing a few years ago in my family and I snowboarded a few times and felt uncomfortable every time while my kids zoomed down the mountain. This year I bought skis when Sports Authority went out of business and I'm looking forward to gliding downhill like I did in my teens. No season pass, but I suspect we'll be at the mountain a fair bit.
